Veterinarian

Dr. Alice Xenachis, DVM, CVA, CFT

Certified in Veterinary Acupuncture and Veterinary Food Therapy through the Chi Institute.

I was born in Romania and fled the communist regime with my family when I was 5 years old. My parents were human doctors and redid their training to be able to practice medicine in the US. I received my bachelors in Biology and Psychology at Rutgers University in NJ. I completed veterinary school at Western University in Southern California. I went on to complete a rotating internship in Surgery and Medicine at VCA referral hospitals in Connecticut. I am certified in Veterinary Acupuncture, Food and Herbal Therapy through the Chi Institute in Florida. I have worked over a decade at different specialty, emergency and referral hospitals around the US. I enjoy emergency medicine, internal medicine and alternative medicine.
My husband, Dr Jason and I started Fur Baby’s Vet Hospital with the goal to provide high quality veterinary medicine at an affordable price for the animals of the gulf coast. We love to help the underdog and have accumulated many pets that we care for. We have a very caring, loving staff that we are very proud of. We have met many wonderful pets and clients on the gulf coast. We hope to help your pets live happy and healthy lives!

Veterinarian

Dr. Jason Gulas

I am a 2011 graduate from Western University of Health Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine. I have practiced in many states including Montana where we were the only practice for about 100 miles in any direction. This allowed me to see all sorts of pets and farm animals. I was a large animal practitioner in Pennsylvania where I primarily saw farm animals. My wife, Alice Xenachis DVM and I moved to Saucier MS in 2014 with our 3 dogs and 3 cats (at that time). We both practiced on the coast for about 5 years before purchasing an old air conditioning building, and with the help of my family converted it into Fur Baby’s Veterinary Hospital. It has been an amazing journey from our Grand Opening in 2019. I wish I could say it’s been all fuzzy puppies and cute kittens, there have been good times and bad times, but mostly good times. We have seen some very interesting cases and saved countless animals and have acquired about 20 dogs and 6 cats. Some of which are still looking for a furever home. Of all the different aspects of veterinary medicine, I enjoy surgery the most. I have always enjoyed working with my hands and in an odd sort of way, there is a certain amount of art/ creativity involved with every surgery. I look forward to meeting you and your furbaby!
